Bordeaux pilot site.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The different actors of the project have for main goal to improve mobility and safety in Bordeaux urban area through new technologies and connected vehicles.<\/p>\n

This mission is directly aligned with the mobility plan of Bordeaux M\u00e9tropole, which has several objectives among which :<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Leading to a sustainable, clean and efficient transport<\/li>\n
  2. Set up an efficient intermodal and multimodal transport system<\/li>\n
  3. Manage the traffic in an innovative way<\/li>\n
  4. Improve the urban and inter-ubran safety (ring road)<\/li>\n
  5. Improve the safety of the most vulnerable road users<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The priorities of the C-The Difference Bordeaux app are amongst these:<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Emergency Vehicle Approaching<\/h3>
    <\/p>\n

    The app notifies the user that an emergency vehicle is near from his position even if he does not see or hear it yet, which allows him to adapt his driving.<\/p>\n

    <\/div><\/p>\n

    Road Hazard Warning<\/h3>
    <\/p>\n

    Warn the user that there is a hazard on the road a few hundred meters in front of him such as an accident, presence of wild animals or a deformed road.<\/p>\n

    <\/div><\/p>\n

    Road Works Warning<\/h3>
    <\/p>\n

    Warn the user of road works on his near itinerary, allowing him to adapt his speed.<\/p>\n

    <\/div><\/p>\n

    Park and Ride Information<\/h3>
    <\/p>\n

    The app notifies the user that a park-and-ride facility is near to his position. The user can also choose to go to one of these facilities by picking it in the menu.<\/p>\n

    <\/div><\/p>\n

    Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory (GLOSA)<\/h3>
    <\/p>\n

    Notifies the user that there is an intersection with traffic lights in front of him, the app shows him the number of lanes, the direction(s) available for each of the lanes, as well as the state of the light for each lane. If the light is red but turning green soon, the app will advise the driver to slow down in order to get to the intersection at the moment when the light will turn green.<\/p>\n

    Signal violation \/ Intersection Safety<\/h3>
    <\/p>\n

    If the user is about to go through the red light, the app might notify him of a dangerous behavior.<\/p>\n

    <\/div><\/p>\n

    In-vehicle signage<\/h3>
    <\/p>\n

    The app shows the driver the maximum speed at which he is allowed to drive on the road section he currently is.<\/p>\n

    <\/div><\/p>\n

    The service provided by the app C-The Difference is deployed on more than 546 intersections in Bordeaux urban area for a total of around 2176 traffic lights. The deployment of the service is still going on today in order to cover most of the intersections with traffic lights in the urban area.<\/p>\n

    C-The Difference developed by Bordeaux pilot site gives the drivers a new way to handle the driving in the city thanks to the road infrastructures information he is given. It especially allows him to adapt his driving when getting close to an intersection managed by traffic lights.<\/p>\n
